Driver, McAlister and Stallworthy selected in Australian Cal Ripken team

The Australian Cal Ripken team for 2012 has been announced by the Australian Baseball Federation with three (3) NSW players selected.

Players representing three different associations were selected, they were:

 

 

·         Mitchell Driver (Cronulla)

·         Flynn Stallworthy (Ryde)

·         Sebastian McAlister (Hills)

Players have been selected from all over the country, with three players selected from five different states, WA, VIC, SA, QLD and NSW. See the link below for the full team list.

The squad of fifteen will travel to the United States of America and participate in the Cal Ripken World Series in the International group from the 11 – 18 August at Aberdeen, Maryland.

Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada, Korea and Japan will be the five combatants that Australia will battle in the International pool need to get through as they look to finish at the top end of the tournament.

NSW is also represented in the coaching staff with ABF Hall of Famer Lionel Harris. After attending the Cal Ripken World Series last year Lionel will assist the NSW kids prepare in what will be a tough and arduous tournament.
